ORANG SABAH YANG BAIK BUDI
Satu perkara unik yang aku lihat dalam masyarakat Sabah yang berbilang kaum dan etnik ialah keakraban mereka. Entah mengapa tidak seperti di Semenanjung, keakraban mereka diterjemah ketika aku meladeni Kursus Protokol, Etiket Sosial dan Pengacaraan Majlis di KKPN (Ko-Nelayan), Kementerian Pertanian dan Industri Makanan Sabah minggu lalu.
Ketika aku memecahkan mereka kepada kumpulan-kumpulan kecil, tanpa banyak soal mereka terus bertindak cepat dan terhasillah kumpulan-kumpulan yang pelbagai etniknya. Berbanding dengan banyak siri kursus yang aku ladeni di Semenanjung, mereka akan membentuk kumpulan-kumpulan dari bangsa dan agama yang sama. Malah lebih buruk, ada yang membentuk kumpulan berdasarkan negeri asal masing-masing.
Keakraban mereka sangat jelas terpancar, meskipun dalam kalangan mereka terdiri dari kumpulan gred berbeza; pegawai dan pegawai sokongan. Malah, ketika aku mengadakan sesi ’salam senyum’ dengan semua ahli, semua ahli amat ’sporting’ dan tidak malu untuk memeluk erat Ketua Jabatan masing-masing sambil berlaga pipi! [BACA: Bukan Berbeza Jantina Ya!]. Mereka mesra dan boleh bergurau, walaupun pada masa yang sama tahu akan had masing-masing.
Apabila ditanya kepada Pengurus Besar Ko-Nelayan ketika majlis penutupan malam terakhir, beliau berkata budaya kekeluargaan dalam Ko-Nelayan, malah dalam Kementerian Pertanian dan Industri Makanan Sabah amat ditekankan. Tanpa mengira kaum, etnik, budaya dan agama. Aku teruja bilamana mereka boleh menari poco-poco bersama-sama ketika waktu rehat makan tengahari.
Aku kira, ini suatu pengalaman yang menarik untuk diselami rakyat Malaysia seluruhnya. Tatkala pulang aku dipeluk erat mereka dan aku teruja dengan sekotak besar hasil laut Sabah segar yang dibungkus rapi hadiah daripada mereka. Terima Kasih orang Sabah! Budi kalian dikenang jua. Aku datang lagi pastinya!
* Banyak tempat tidak dapat aku pergi kali ini dek kekangan kerja. InsyaAllah lain kali ingin juga ke Kundasang, ke kampung air dan ke restoran kampung nelayan.
*Terima kasih juga kepada ex-housemate ketika bujang dahulu Ruzaidi Azli (pernah aku tulis kisah kami yang pernah saling payung-memayung ketika masalah gaji ketika kerja tidak tetap dahulu), yang sudah berumah tangga di negeri di bawah bayu itu; sudi belanja makan setelah bertahun tidak bertemu.

yup…my Sabahan’s mates mostly have a warm& welcoming personality (although we embrace different faith,it does not sop us to become close frens!:.I think the culture has a strong influence towards this unique essence of theirs…
p/s i recommend you to hv a trip to the breath-taking,pictureresque kundasang and the Kinabalu Park!!to add the adventure,peek over Poring and walk across the jambatan ganung for a fearfactor test!:P
